In the late 1970s, the Supra was a 6-cylinder derivation of the Celica; it would become a specific coupé in 1986, changing radically again in 1993. After a long period, the Supra returns to an attractive though less exclusive form than the previous versions, being developed together with BMW on the basis of the Z4,. The car is equipped with a 3-litres 6-cylinder unit giving 340 horsepower flanked, for Europe, by the 4-cylinder BMW 2-liter giving 258 horsepower (in Japan there is also a 197 hp version of this engine), the first 4 cylindres unit to be mounted on a Supra.
