In the late sixties, the Cobra represented the antithesis of the GT concept that was to develop shortly thereafter. Yet with the arrival of the 7-liter V8 engine (427), the Cobra was able to continue its career. With a new tubular chassis, wider body and several other modifications, the Cobra 427 in the competition version could count on 485 horses (425 in the road versions). 260 road specimens were produced from 1965 to 1969 plus 55 racing models between 1964 and 1965.
