MINICHAMPS - OPEL - CALIBRA 1989

That of the Opel coupes was an established tradition. The Calibra, launched in 1989, took up the legacy of the Manta B, which remained in production for thirteen years, from 1975 to 1988. Designed by Erhard Schell, it had exceptional aerodynamics, with a coefficient of just 0.26. Based on the platform of the Vectra sedan, the Calibra was available with 2-liter (various versions) or 2.5-liter V6 engines. A 4-wheel drive configuration was also developed, available only on the 2000cc. In 1993 one of the most interesting versions was presented, the 2.0 turbo 4x4. The Calibra remained in production until July 1997. Several limited series, such as the Limited Edition I and II (1993), the Cool Line (1994) or the Team (1996).
