The XM was Citroën's attempt to revive a high-end model, this time for the 1990s. The style, undoubtedly, was pretty original and tried to combine the family feeling of the larger Citroëns (DS, CX ...) with a more modern spirit. The success of the XM, which remained in production from 1989 to 2000, was all in all fairly limited, with just over 330,000 units produced. With a choice of engines ranging from 2000 to 3000cc, the XM was also conditioned by reliability not always fully tested.
