On April 24, 1963, the Giulia TI Super was presented in Monza, a lightened and enhanced version of the Giulia TI, destined to be produced in 501 units required for sports homologation in the Touring category. The preparation in a sporting key was evident in every element of the car: the engine was the 1290cc 4-cylinder of the Giulia SS, which thanks to a series of modifications developed 112 horsepower in the road version, which could then exceed 140 in the various configurations. race. The weight was low (-90kg compared to the TI). Initially, in 1963, homologation was obtained only for the GT category, and therefore the TI Super had to compete with much more competitive cars. The homologation in Tourism arrived in January 1964. The management was left in the hands of individuals, but the support of the Works was evident, also thanks to the advice of test drivers Bruno Bonini and Guido Moroni.
