The forerunner of the SUV’s? Probably yes. The Matra Rancho, presented in 1977, was characterized by an off-road appearance and a considerable interior spaciousness. The original style car had some components of the Simca 1100 and the engine of the Simca 1308, a 1442cc 80 horsepower. The Matra Rancho went out of production in 1984.
