Produced from 1953 to 1959, the DKW 3 = 6 series re-proposed the old theme of the two-stroke engine. Built in numerous body variants (2 and 4-door sedan, station wagon, 4-seater coupe, 2 and 4-seater convertible ...), the 3 = 6 had an 896cc 3-cylinder engine mounted longitudinally in the front position and a 4 synchronized gears. The 4-door bodies were marketed from 1955. The 3 = 6 series went out of production in 1959 with over 230,000 units built.
