The Civic Type-R with a 2000cc engine replaced the sporty versions of the Civic 1600cc in 2001. Even in the case of the Type-R, Honda achieved a ratio of around 100hp / liter, with the engine of the new car reaching 200hp. Initially criticized enough for some defects such as the weak steering box, the Type-R was able to win the interest of enthusiasts, for its exceptional performance and a typically racing attitude. Some special series, such as the 30th Anniversary were particularly coveted. In 2006, the first generation gave way to the second, equipped with the same engine but slightly modified electronics.
