For the 151 model, in 1965 there was a further revisitation of the chassis, the bodywork and this time also the engine, which was increased to 5046.8 cm³ of displacement. This version was called Type 154 by some, or 151/4. Driver Lloyd Casner was killed during testing for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The engine was later installed on the Type 65 less than two months later.
