Marked by the internal abbreviation SE109, the Fiat 199 (Grande Punto) Abarth Super 2000 began to be designed in the second part of 2004, in anticipation of a commitment to rallies. The engine was the 1746cc one from the Stilo, which in the Alfa Romeo 156 1800 version had already given excellent results in the 2-litre version. In the summer of 2005 the car was ready for competitions.
