The economic crisis at the end of the 1920s caused the 530 project to die, set aside even before going into production. In its place, Fiat developed the 525, launched in 1928, with the 125-type 37239cc engine and 68.5 horsepower. The 525 could be considered the heir to the 512 of 1926. The 525 was also successful as a representative car and remained in production until 1929.
