The Toledo was born from a somewhat bizarre fusion of the 1296cc 4-cylinder engine and the bodywork of the Triumph 1300 with a specific transmission and suspension system. The Toledo debuted in 1970 with a 2-door sedan body and from 1972 the 4-door configuration was also introduced. Front disc brakes were available from 1973 and radial tires from 1975. For export, the Toledo was also equipped with a 1.5-liter engine. Production was stopped in 1976.
