Four-seater coupe produced in France at the Maubeuge plants from October 1979 to June 1985, the Renault Fuego continued its career in Argentina, where it was manufactured from March 1982 to 1992. Presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1980 , the Fuego was equipped with various engines, petrol (1400, 1700, 2000, 2200cc and turbo 1600cc) and turbodiesel (2100). A turbo cabriolet prototype built by Heuliez was designed primarily for the American market in 1982 but was never put into production. La Fuego also had a racing career, especially in the French "Production" touring car championship.
