The motorcycle brand Yamaha has often collaborated in automotive projects: just think of the supply of Formula 1 engines for Zakspeed, Brabham, Jordan, Tyrrell and Arrows between 1989 and 1997. In 1991 Yamaha tried to build its own supercar with a car developed by Ypsilon Technology, a subsidiary based in Milton Keynes, Great Britain. The style was by Takuya Yura. Three prototypes were built by IAD but the project did not have a productive follow-up. The engine of the OX99 was a 3498cc V12 and 400 horsepower at 10,000 rpm.
