Alpine joined the new Hypercar regulation in 2021 by adapting the Rebellion R13, whose project, due to Oreca, dates back to 2017. Despite this structural handicap, the A480 has shown good competitiveness, and in 2022 the car returns to the tapes starting point of the WEC. The Alpine A480 is equipped with an atmospheric 4.3-liter V8 with an output of approximately 625 horsepower; the transmission is sequential with 6 gears, the weight is 900 kg. In its debut year, the A480 raced six races, always finishing on the podium and also scoring a pole position.
