BMW sent a Formula 2 Lola T100 with a 16-valve engine increased to 2000cc to the 1967 German GP so to be eligible in the F.1 regulations. The official driver Hubert Hahne, engaged with BMW both in F.2 and in Tourism, qualified in 15th position but had to retire on the sixth lap due to a broken suspension.
