An all but revolutionary car, the 1984 95T was the first completely new Lotus since the 88 days. Back on Goodyear tires, the team could count on the designer Ducarouge and on the team manager Peter Warr. The drivers, Nigel Mansell and Elio De Angelis achieved good results. A certain lack of reliability and a few too many mistakes on the part of the drivers probably cost a couple of wins but the third place of the team in the constructors' standings was the best result obtained since 1978.
