In 2018 the Rebellion R13 of the LMP1 class represented the first major innovation for Oreca Technology. In just five months the director of the design department Christophe Guibbal prepared not one but two cars that debuted at the start of the WEC season. The Rebellion R13 had a carbon monocoque and was powered by the atmospheric 665 horsepower at 9000 rpm Gibson GL-458 V8 engine, with Cosworth electronics. The gearbox was a 6-speed Xtrac.
