Six years after the presentation of the Alfetta GT, a profound restyling of the bodywork took place at the end of 1980 which aimed to transform a by now rather dated car into a sports car in line with current trends. From a mechanical point of view, the 1962cc twin cam was kept, capable of delivering 130 horsepower. Interior and exterior were revised and modernized. A further facelift further upgraded the car at the beginning of 1983, giving it three more years of life. Special versions included the 1981 Grand Prix.
