At the Amsterdam Motor Show, in January 1995, Porsche presented the 911 (993) Carrera RS, a sportier version, intended for racing, in a limited series of 1200 units. The Carrera RS was marketed in a basic or Clubsport version. If the Clubsport was equipped with more conspicuous rear and front spoilers, the basic version was slightly more discreet. Compared to the Carrera, the weight reduction was evident. The displacement of the engine (type M64 / 20) increased to 3.8 liters for a power of 300 horsepower. The transmission was 6-speed manual.
