SPARK-MODEL - RENAULT - ALPINE A211 N 15 1000km DE PARIS 1967 M.BIANCHI - H.GRANDSIRE

In 1967, the Alpine-Renault A210s raced with 1300 and 1500 engines, waiting for the V8 3000cc at 90 ° that was slow in coming. For this engine there was talk of a power of around 300 horsepower. Finally the A210 equipped with the 3-liter V8 (renamed A211) made its debut at the 1000km of Paris in Montlhéry at the end of the season, showing however serious lack of stability, also due to the less than ideal weight distribution. The top speed was around 240 km / h and the car was dangerous, losing direction on the front. The gearbox had also given considerable problems. During 1968 the A211 continued to be used, but the Alpine began to build an entirely new car, the A220, capable of adequately accommodating the V8.
