Presented in the autumn of 1987, the Lancia Delta Integrale kept the best of the HF 4WD, improving those details that had proved problematic. Conceived to obtain Group A homologation, the road Integrale had the well-known 1995cc 4-cylinder engine with 8 valves per cylinder that developed a maximum power of 181 horsepower. Externally, the new Integrale was recognized by the widened wheel arches, but the changes concerned many aspects of the mechanics and the chassis. The Integrale 8V was replaced in 1989 by the 16 valve version.
