In the 1970s, Chevron's production of sport-prototype cars for customers assumed increasing importance even though the house also devoted itself massively to single-seaters. After the second half of the decade, with the decline and then disappearance of the 2-litre European Championship, Chevron continued to offer new chassis for the teams: the B31, released in 1975, sold, without engine, for £7250. At that time, most of Chevron's production went into single-seaters, many of which were exported to the United States. The B31 Sport-Prototype, evolution of the B26, was produced in 6 specimens.
