With the 1973 model B23 Chevron tried to optimize the concepts already developed with the B21. The primary goal was the 2-liter European Championship, where the car raced with the Ford Cosworth FVC engine. Once again, however, the Chevron was not as competitive as the Lola T292, finishing in second position. That year Chevron won at Paul Ricard, finishing second in Misano, Imola, Clermont-Ferrand, Nurburgring, Oesterreichring and Barcelona. The B23 was also used by private teams in various championships, also making some outing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
