The changes introduced to the technical regulations of the 1995 Formula 1 season, which limited the displacement to 3 liters, forced the Ferrari engineers to modify the V12 engine, which then went from 3499cc to 2997cc, with a power of about 690HP. The shape of the 412 T2 Formula 1 retained a rather traditional look. The results achieved by Berger and Alesi were quite good, even if far from the standards of the top teams. That year Jean Alesi achieved the only victory of his career, at the Canadian GP in Montreal.
