The first version of the Oxford went into production in 1948. The structure, brakes, suspension and steering were closely related to those of the Minor. From September 1952 the station wagon was also available. The engine was a 1476cc in-line 4-cylinder. The first series Oxford gave way to the Mk.II in 1954 after 159,960 units produced.
