Popular car, the Zaz 965 was the Soviet equivalent of the Trabant in East Germany. It was produced, starting in 1960, at the Zaporija plant in Ukraine. Despite a line inspired by that of the Fiat 600, the Zaz was completely Soviet in concept. Its rudimentary mechanics were very easy to repair. The car was equipped with an 887cc 4-cylinder engine that developed 26 horsepower at 4000 rpm. A Zaz 965 appears in the James Bond film "Goldeneye" (1995) where the car is driven by Jack Wade, a CIA agent in Russia.
