In 1979 Jean-Pierre Jabouille was still an official Renault driver in F.1. First with the RS01, then with the new RS10 the French driver collected a long series of retirements due to the poor reliability of the V6 turbo engine but also achieved a historic victory in Dijon, the first for Renault in F.1 and also the first for a turbocharged engine.
