In the early 1950s, the Spanish regime called the designer Wilfredo Ricart who worked at Alfa Romeo home to create a range of high-end sports cars. Thus was born the Pegaso. The Z-102 model was produced from 1951 to 1958, with so many body variants to make exact identification difficult. The engines of the Z-102 were all V8s, from 2500, 2800 and 3200cc. A compressor version of the 2.8-liter was capable of about 285 bhp. The Pegaso had many advantages, including an excellent chassis, but a poor level of finish and above all no historical tradition.
