The Maserati A6 1500 Berlinetta Pininfarina was the prototype of the version built in series from 1948. Presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1948 and then at the Concorso d'eleganza del Pincio (Rome), it was a car of rare simplicity, reminiscent of the lines of the Cisitalia 202, again by Pininfarina. It proposed stylistic features that would be found on much of the Italian GT production of the 1950s.
