Despite an already quite SUV-ish look, the Opel Frontera, presented in 1991, remained a traditional vehicle: non-permanent 4-wheel drive, somewhat rough roadholding, and mediocre performance, apart from the versions equipped with the 3.2-liter V6. 205 horsepower, produced from 1998 to 2004. As a diesel, the 2.3 was quite powerful, with 100 horsepower, but even better are the 2.8 TD (113 horsepower from 1996), the 115 horsepower 2.5 TDS, of the 1996-1998 or the 115 horsepower 2.2 Dti. There were two body configurations: three-door short wheelbase and five-door long wheelbase. Comfort was improved in 1995 and an aesthetic restyling was carried out in 1998. The Frontera went out of production in 2004.
