Born in 1904, Giovanni Moretti began the production of motorcycles in Turin in 1926, followed by electric cars and vans. After the Second World War he developed small cars equipped with engines of his own conception, including a twin-shaft sports model that stood out during the Alger-Le Cap raid. Starting from 1958 Moretti abandoned specific engine production to concentrate on conversions of bodywork mostly on Fiat basis.
