The Giulia TZ (also known as TZ1 to distinguish it from the later TZ2) is one of the most famous Gran Turismo of the sixties. The abbreviation TZ stands for “tubular Zagato”. The chassis was in fact tubular and the bodywork was designed by the famous specialist. The engine was the 1600cc which in the standard version gave 112 horsepower, but the TZ was a car born for competitions and there were numerous sports preparations, with participation in the most important races on the track, in hillclimbs and rallies. About 120 TZs were produced.
