The Austrian manufacturer Steyr Puch began to produce Fiat models under license after the war. The cars were however modified and rethought for the local market. Even the 500 did not escape this rule, as it was equipped with a specific engine, with a higher power than the Fiat 110.000 type. The Steyr Puch 500 proved to be a lively car and also suitable for racing. In the 500, 650 and 700 versions, about 55,000 units were produced from 1957 to 1973.
