The 1979 N179 (also known as the M11) was the last Ensign designed by Baldwin and partially financed by Teddy Yip. The single-seater was quite traditional, with the classic Cosworth engine and Hewland gearbox, but in the first configuration it featured radiators mounted on the front, which were soon brought back to the side. The car was never really competitive and three drivers (Derek Daly, Patrick Gaillard and Marc Surer) attempted to qualify it in only five races. In 1980 the N179 was replaced by the N180.
