A rare competition variant of the 100, the Austin Healey 100S was produced in 55 units from 1954 to 1956. The engine was a 2660cc in-line 4-cylinder derived from that of the 100, but with an alloy head, capable of an output of 132 horsepower. A general lightening operation had been carried out on the car. The gearbox was a 4-speed with overdrive and brakes were all-disc.
