The 9-3 Viggen of 1999 derived its name from that of a well-known fighter aircraft produced by Saab itself and was the sports version of the classic 9-3. A descendant of the famous 900 Turbo 16 Aero, the Viggen retained the mechanical base of the Opel Vectra, but the chassis part was modified with redesigned suspension. Engine was fitted with a supercharger. For the time, performance was impressive, with a top speed of 250 km / h.
