Initially, the Volvo 740/760 extended the recipe of the 240/260, with a more modern look, with a vaguely American taste. Over the years, this large rear-wheel drive car abandoned the rigid axle (from 1987 on the 760 sedan), then rounded off the angular lines of the bodywork with the 940/960 in 1990, with a redesigned tail. The model ended its career under another name, S90 and V90 (sedan and estate). These latest versions are still extremely desirable today, with an excellent 204hp inline 6-cylinder engine, limousine-worthy comfort and a highly advanced automatic transmission. The S/V90 series remained in production from 1997 to 1998.
