Under the IFA brand, from 1948 to 1956, some cars were produced that were inspired by the DKW concept, ie two-stroke engine and front-wheel drive, built in East Germany in the factories of Zwickau and Eisenach. The brand was then absorbed by Wartburg. The F9, produced since 1951, was initially available as a sedan; in 1952 the cabriolet model was introduced and in 1953 it was the turn of the Cabrio-Limousine and the Kombi. Production stopped with the end of the IFA.
