At the 2004 Geneva Motor Show, Maserati presented the "GranSport", a version destined to enhance the concept of sportiness already proper to all the Trident Granturismo. The car joined the Coupé and Spyder models. The Maserati GranSport was only available with the 6-speed electro-hydraulic transmission with paddle controls behind the steering wheel for shifting gears. The Cambiocorsa system, which made it possible to choose between different shift modes (Normal, Sport, Automatic and Low Grip), was managed in the GranSport by specific software.
