The Kadett Aero (C series) was presented in 1976. It was a car halfway between the targa configuration and the convertible: the roof was removable and the rear part of the roof was made of folding material that could be opened like a cabriolet. The rear part of the roof remained fixed, like a roll bar. The car was produced in the factories of Irmscher, Opel official tuner, in Remshalden-Grunbach. Initially the proposed engine was the 1196cc 4-cylinder, while in March 1977 the 1584cc 4-cylinder also arrived, which could also be combined with an automatic transmission. Production went on until 1978.
