With the third generation, presented in 2005, the Clio received more robust lines and a series of equipment able to cope with the German competition. In parallel, an unprecedented Estate declination (the name of the Renault break) was added to the 3 or 5-door sedan bodies. On the other hand, the convertible version was not foreseen, unlike the competitor Peugeot 207. The Clio III offered a complete range of engines, including a 2000 aspirated 200 horsepower branded Renault Sport. A restyling was conducted in May 2009. The third series Clio went out of production in 2014.
