At the Turin Motor Show in 1962 a new version of the Fiat 1100 was presented, the D. The car, inspired by the "Special", had a modified bodywork, while from a mechanical point of view the most notable change was the adoption of the engine type 103G005 with 1221cc and 55 horsepower. A family version was also built. In total, over 330,000 1100D units were manufactured between 1962 and 1966.
