The second-generation Camaro was introduced by Chevrolet from 1970 through the whole 70s, with modifications and improvements coming year after year. The Camaro MkII was longer, lower and wider than the first model. The 1971 car came with only minor changes from the M.Y. 1970, such as new seats with adjustable headrests. The biggest change came from the engine, that needed some adjustments to accomplish new GM-corporate directions about gasoline use. 1971 Camaro models were presented in September 1970 along with a shrinking interest in the ponycar world, fueled by increasing insurance rates and taxes for such cars.
