The AMX was conceived for sporty use, with its small size, its two dry seats and the 390ci engine with Go-Package option. The V8 had been enhanced and optimized, the ground clearance reduced and a self-locking differential was introduced. Also available on the Javelin, the Go-Package was at its best on the AMX. The interest was to offer low weight and high-level performance with an engine free to express itself without too many limitations.
