In 1966 BMW added a coupé to its range developed in collaboration with Osnabruck's Karmann bodywork manufacturer. It was the elegant 2000CS, which was characterized by simple but refined lines and a well-finished and welcoming interior. The 2-liter model had a 1990cc and 120 horsepower 4-cylinder engine, and remained in production until 1969.
