It was designed for the purest “Alfisti”: the Alfa Romeo flagship was an all-wheel drive without too many compromises and a sporting flavour. For its personality it was forgiven for the lack of ride comfort and the rather demanding driving. With the Quadrifoglio the 164 was part of the restricted elite of all-wheel drive sedans. Unlike the competitors Audi and Mercedes, which had focused heavily on comfort, the 164 Q4 played many of its cards on sportiness and performance.
