In 1952 the Ferrari 212 Inter underwent numerous technical modifications. Power increased to 170hp (6500rpm) thanks to the adoption of new cylinder heads and three standard Weber 36 DCF / 3 carburettors. The chassis had a wheelbase of 2.60 m and was modified and improved in several places. The steering control was also modified. The guide, which had always been on the right, passed definitively to the left, starting with chassis 0211, delivered in March 1952. The suffix "EL" ("Export Lungo") which appeared at the end of the chassis number was replaced by 'abbreviation EU, which corresponded to the designation "Europe". In October 1952, two of these new 212 Inter "EU" cars were exhibited at the Paris Motor Show: Ghia designed a 4-window coupé whose nose, in which the headlights were placed between the grille and the mudguards, recalled numerous creations by this coachbuilder on behalf of Chrysler. Alongside this coupé, Pinin Farina presented a convertible (chassis 0235EU) with simple and elegant lines. The car became one of the many Ferraris of Roberto Rossellini who entered it in the 1000km of the Nürburgring 1953 for Riccardo Vignolo and Maurice Gatsonides, who clicnhed a fine ninth place overall.
