Luigi Chinetti, the Ferrari importer in the US, had the idea of a spyder version from the 275 GTB/4. In 1967 a very limited number of cars was built (about ten in total) destined mostly for the North American market and set up at the Scaglietti body shop in Modena. The coupe's sleek lines lost none of their beauty and aggression with the spyder configuration. The mechanics remained unchanged: the engine was the 3285cc V12, capable of a power of 300hp at 8000 rpm.
