Designed by Giugiaro, the first series of the VW Scirocco debuted in 1974 and received, over the course of its career, several more or less powerful 4-cylinder engines. The less sporty versions were equipped with the 1100cc engine with 50 horsepower and with the 1500 / 1600cc with 70, 75 and 80hp; to find something more interesting we had to choose the 1600cc 110hp of the GLI, derived from the Golf GTI, which received the 5-speed gearbox starting from 1979. The first series Scirocco was produced until 1981.
